Mirador CM release 2.3 with enhanced support for workload consolidation and virtualisation
An increasingly important question that many capacity planners need to address is the effect of moving workloads from the existing server to a different server. The workload may, of course, be implemented within a virtual machine on the target server.
The latest release of Mirador CM (release 2.3) provides a facility to automatically build a new workload from one or more workloads in another model (the ‘source’ model). This new facility is designed to simplify and accelerate the process of planning workload consolidation and workload virtualisation exercises.
New workload components are created from one or more workloads in the source model. If the workload is to be run in a virtual machine on the target model, CPU and I/O ‘virtualisation’ overheads are automatically applied, to reflect the additional resource costs which will be incurred. |
