Mirador CM selected by BSkyB
for Computer Capacity Management
British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) has chosen the Mirador CM product from Mirador Software Limited for computer capacity management. Sky was the first major media company to become carbon neutral and in line with these environmental objectives, will use the Mirador CM software to minimise the requirement for computer server resources.
The Mirador CM system will use Sky's existing server monitors, based on the HP Software 'Operations Centre' products, and storing the data in a centralised Capacity Database (CDB). Sky staff will use this data to focus on current and potential performance issues, and use Mirador CM's modelling capabilities to accurately predict future behaviour and manage resource allocation accordingly.
Mirador Software Limited specialises in the provision of Capacity Management software and services, and is dedicated to the HP Software marketplace. The Mirador CM software automates many of the processes required to implement the ITIL recommendations for capacity management. The product automatically discovers the target environment, collects and stores the server data, provides exception reports to focus attention in the right areas, and builds models ready for the capacity planning 'what-if' questions including planning for consolidation and/or virtualisation.
